Our Circuit |
The Nottingham North East Circuit of the Methodist Church is a circuit formed out of a "missional merger" of the former Nottingham North and Nottingham East Circuits.
Our Vision
"The Nottingham North East Circuit exists to equip our churches to seek, serve and follow Jesus, so that God’s love is shared in our communities and lives are transformed."
Prayer and WorshipWe are committed to helping our churches, congregations and communities to have meaningful encounters with God by resourcing our Ministers, Local Preachers and Worship Leaders, and facilitating a variety of prayer and worship opportunities. |
Discernment and CallingWe seek to work alongside each of our churches and members to help them to recognise the opportunities they have in their local communities for service and mission, encouraging them to be active participants in the Kingdom building Jesus started. |
TrainingTo help our churches and congregations to achieve their identified visions and mission statements and serve their communities we strive to both promote and provide regular opportunities for training, equipping and empowering. |
Deepening DiscipleshipOur hope is that all those who come into and through our churches meet with God, and that this isn't just a fleeting encounter, but rather part of a meaningful, life-long relationship. We want to help our churches help their communities to nurture those relationships and promote the importance of a personal relationship with God. |
EvangelismFrom the basis of discipleship relationships with God the Circuit aspires to encourage our congregations to talk naturally about what God is doing in their lives, building confidence in sharing stories and living out the goodness of a "God for All" both inside and outside of the church's walls. |
CommunicationIntegral to any organisation, mission or family is communication. The Circuit are aware that we need to both speak with, and listen to, our churches, our members, our communities, our world, our cultures and our God to be effective in mission. We will be communicating in person, electronically, in words, pictures and videos, and available to listen to the voices around us. |
Organisation and ResourcesThe Circuit leadership team as a trustee body are privileged to serve the circuit and help manage all our resources, everything from money, to buildings, to staff, and more. We want to be good stewards of those resources, using them all wisely and in a manner that serves the mission of the local churches. |
Engagement and InclusivityWe believe that ALL are made in the image of God, and that the love of God, as well as our churches, should be accessible to ALL. Because of that, we are committed to creating and maintaining safe places for all to belong and be part of our communities, including through challenging injustice and implementing procedures designed to protect the most vulnerable from harm. |

A Shared Commitment:
to "Our Calling": |
to Safeguarding:The Methodist Church is committed to safeguarding as an integral part of its life and ministry. Safeguarding is about the action the Church takes to promote a safer culture. This means we will:
Each of our churches have safeguarding policies in place which are reviewed annually. Our Circuit policy is in the process of being reviewed, and in the mean time we will be acting in line with the policy of the Nottingham and Derby District. For local safeguarding concerns, please contact Rev. Susan McIvor: |
