Since September 2021 Deacon Julie Morton has spent time in Nottingham city centre, praying around the city, making contacts and building relationships. Having gathered a small Core Team who work alongside her, together they have tried to listen to the needs of the city and to God.

A Christian community called Breathe now meets on a weekly basis in the Revolution pub, where those who gather have conversations about life and faith, sharing pizza together and looking at the bible.
We learn about how one another’s week has been, the joys and struggles and we listen to one another, respecting our differences. |

A few things we have started haven’t always worked out but we recognise that there is strength in being able to bring something to an end.
We have recently started a Women’s Group who meet in Café Sobar. As we share food and drinks together we are currently looking at Faithful Women. |
Our future plans include a stall on the Winterwonderland in the Old Market Square if our application is successful, starting a new Bible Study in the Autumn, the possibility of a new online group and we are once again searching for our own property from which we can offer a variety of services, rather than using other people’s spaces.
As part of our desire to connect with what is already happening in the city we are recruiting a Development Worker (details below) to specifically explore the possibility of starting a Recovery Church Community. They will also work alongside what currently exists and become a member of the Core Team, helping to develop new ideas. We are really excited about new possibilities for our work in the city centre and continue to pray that God’s hand is upon it.
