We're aware that more and more people in our communities are struggling with the cost of living crisis. There are increasing numbers of people using food banks, and then facing the dilemma of how to afford the cost of the gas or electricity needed to cook that food.

As churches many of us are in a privileged position of having a building which we could open and heat and share with our communities to help relieve some of this burden. A number of our churches are already considering what they can offer by way of hospitality to their communities which will help not only with heat but also with food and fellowship. The Walking with Micah: Methodist Principles for Social Justice project will help the Methodist Church in Britain to focus on our principles and priorities for justice and through that increase our ability to seek God’s justice, as a Church and in our own Christian lives.

So what will this project involve?

The following is a letter template for how you can write to your MP in response to the government's plans to offshore asylum seekers in Rwanda, originally written by Rev. Richard Byass to his MP.

Letter writing and expressing our views well to our representatives in parliament is a really good way of being pro-active about our faith as we seek to see justice and mercy shown in our world, and love for neighbour expressed.

If you need to find your local MP's details, you can do so here:
